Evaluation of pharmacological activity of Hibiscus tiliaceus
Hibiscus tiliaceus, locally known as Bhola was examined for phytochemical properties and its cytotoxic, antibacterial, analgesic and neuropharmacological activities using the ethanol extract of leaf and bark. The phytochemical analysis of the leaf extract indicated the presence of tannins, whereas bark extract indicated the presence of alkaloid, reducing sugar and tannins. A preliminary cytotox...
متن کاملAntitumour Activity of Hibiscus tiliaceus Linn. Roots
The aim of this study was to evaluate antitumour activity of the roots of Hibiscus tiliaceus Linn. against Dalton’s Ascitic Lymphoma (DAL) in Swiss albino mice. A significant enhancement of mean survival time (MST) of H. tiliaceus treated tumour bearing mice was found with respect to control group. H. tiliaceus treatment was found to enhance peritoneal cell counts. When these H. ti...

Objective(s) Current study was undertaken to investigate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of the aqueous extract of Teucrium chamaedrys in mice and rats. Materials and Methods For evaluating of analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity, we used the carrageenan- and dextran-induced paw oedema, acetic acid-induced writhing, tail flick and formalin pain tests. Results The extract of...
متن کاملAge and mitotic activity in the male mouse, Mus musculus L.
In earlier analyses of mitotic activity in the male mouse (Bullough, 19480, b) it was shown that the routine of waking and sleeping determines the form of the diurnal mitosis cycle, and that changes from the normal in this routine result immediately in changes from the normal in the mitosis cycle. The opinion was then expressed that factors such as the age and sex of the animals, and the habits...
